Here is the way I like it and make it, sure ur hubby will love this if at all he likes ginger, garlic, red-bell pepper, prego pasta sauce, 1 habanero pepper, 1purple onion and olive oil.
First you get your pasta, let say half of the sphagetti, then break it into 4quarters so u have short sphagetti or any way u like, add hot water from the tap and a little bit (a teaspon of olive oil) then add salt to taste and bring it to boil.
When it becomes soft but not completely cooked get your strainer and strain the pasta juice leaving the pasta in a strainer and do not throw away the water yet.
Slice your onion, red bell pepper, habanero pepper, garlic. For the ginger use a grater to grate the ginger ( about half the size of your fist, pls be careful with ur fingers when using a grater). Then get ready to roll.
Get a clean pot, add 1 and a half( or less depending on the quantity of pasta used) cooking spoon of olive oil, put on medium heat , throw in the purple onion allow to fry until slightly translucent, add garlic and continue stirring, then add the sliced habanero pepper( it is very slighly hot but gives the distint flavor) keep stiring then add the grated ginger and keep stirring, next you add the red bell pepper. you will notice that it is about to brown but u don't want it too brown. Then add about 2cups or half of the prego pasta sauce and allow to sautee.
When the sauce begins to thicken a bit, add about 2 cooking spoons of the salt, olive oil ,water that was strained from the pasta, then stir.
Add the pasta into the sauce while it is cooking and take care that the pasta do not stick together , keep stirring to ensure proper mix and taste for salt last. cook for about 10 minutes and you have a great tasting pasta meal which even tastes better the day after, trust me!

This is one of my favorite fettuccine recipes:
Shrimp Fettuccine
1 tbs Cajun or seasoning salt
1 tbs olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/3 cup finely chopped bell pepper
1 tbs flour
1 tbs dried parsley
1 lb peeled shrimp
2/3 cup skim evaporated milk
1/4 lb (4 oz) lite Velveeta cheese, diced
2/3 tsp minced garlic
1/3 tsp cayenne pepper
1/3 lb Fettuccine noodles
Vegetable coating spray
2 tbs Parmesan cheese
1 tbs dried Basil
Melt margarine in a large saucepan. Add onions and bell pepper. Cook covered until tender, approximately 15-20 minutes. Add flour, cover and cook approximately 15 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Add parsley and shrimp, cook covered for 15 minutes. Add milk, cheese, garlic and pepper, salt and basil. Cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook Fettuccine according to package directions.
Combine shrimp and Fettuccine and place in a 2-quart casserole, previously coated with vegetable spray. Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese and bake in a preheated 350F oven for 15-20 minutes.
