Pasta or sauce recipes? Pasta would be flour and egg's and a little water. Sauce, pork makes the sauce. Olive oil, One large sweet onion, 5 cloves of garlic, one bell pepper, a couple of pork chops or Italian sausage in the casing, couple of pounds of ground chuck one huge can of whole peeled tomatoes, tsp of allspice, one bay leaf, tsp of oregano, fresh basil or dried your choice, salt ant pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Saute onion, garlic, pepper, and pork chops or sausage all at the same time. when the pork is browned not cooked remove pork from mix and add the ground chuck. IMPORTANT: season every layer with salt and pepper. When chuck is browned add whole tomatoes and crush with your hand or in a blender or stick blender. Then put pork chops or sausage in the sauce and let the sauce finish cooking the pork.add spices and let it simmer on the stove for a couple of hours. Note if you make the sauce a day ahead of time it will taste better the next day. Good luck and happy valentines day!

Uncle Rob

Fettuccini Carbonara

5 teaspoons olive oil

4 shallots, diced

1 large onion, cut into thin strips

1 pound bacon, cut into strips

1 clove garlic, chopped

1 (16 ounce) package fettuccini pasta

3 egg yolks

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

salt and pepper to taste

Serves 6.

Heat olive oil in a large heavy saucepan over medium heat. Saute shallots until softened. Stir in onion and bacon, and cook until bacon is evenly browned. Stir in garlic when bacon is about half done. Remove from heat.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain pasta, then return it to the pot.

In a medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks, cream, and shredded Parmesan. Pour the bacon mixture over the pasta, then stir in the cream mixture. Season with salt and pepper.

My favorite pasta is Barilla Pasta Plus. It's got protein and omega 3s in it and is heartier than normal pasta. With that said, I hope you like seafood.

Enough salmon filets for each person

1 can drained minced clams

2 cans not drained diced tomato

some diced/minced roasted red peppers

garlic

capers

anchovy or some paste

some baby shrimp

Put all in a skillet and simmer until salmon is done. Serve over pasta, but use a slotted spoon just to get the chunks out. Serve with fresh hot bread and room temp butter.

Or, Shrimp Alfredo

Jar of alfredo sauce from Ragu

butter

garlic

cleaned shrimp without tails

Saute' butter, garlic and shrimp until almost done. Add the jar of alfredo and heat until hot. Spoon over fresh pasta.
Posting to mark your question, as I am pulling out my husband's favorite to post (don't have it on my computer any longer due to a crash).

It is delicious (simple, common ingredients, etc.), and has always been a smash when entertaining.
Masses of Pasta only cookbooks. If you don't want to buy a new one go to one of the secondhand shops, particularly Age Concern if you are in UK they have hundreds of books. Or of course the Internet has an unlimited stock.

Boil noodles in water.

Put canned sauce in a pan over medium heat until it simmers.

When noodles are soft enough to chew perfectly, put them on a plate and cover with sauce.

Add parmesan cheese liberally.

Seriously spaghetti is like the easiest thing to cook.
i highly recommend allrecipes.com as a place to look for excellent user-reviewed recipes. i particularly like their recipe for ';quick %26amp; easy alfredo sauce'; - it's delicious over pasta with some sauteed chicken pieces, garlic, %26amp; broccoli!
try allrecipes.com ..it has reviews from ppl who tried it

not a bad site for recipes
